I'm keeping this brief, as I really just wanted to share the above.
'Django Unchained' was far from as violent as I anticipated it to be. A solid Tarantino film with great casting (all the awards for Christoph Waltz, please), a killer soundtrack (Morricone theme tune to gangster rap) and a brilliant Franco Nero cameo. As a bit of spaghetti western connoisseur I can say that I was surprised to see no showdowns. Perhaps Tarantino thought it was overkill/ made too many of them in the 'Kill Bill' films.
Also, is it just me or did Samuel L. Jackson's butler remind anyone else of Uncle Ruckus in 'The Boondocks'?
