I'm becoming quite the fan of Sion Sono's work. I recently saw Why Don't You Play in Hell? at the Sydney Underground Film Festival and the film got a huge response from the crowd. Shinichi Tsutsumi's performance as Yakuza boss Ikegami was a major highlight in the film. He reminds me a lot of Toshiro Mifune. Which is a very good thing. The ending to the film was reminiscent to Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain. Another favourite film of mine. Why Don't You Play in Hell is Sion Sono's love letter to film lovers. "Fuck Bombers never die!"
